Sałatka Król Stołu, or “King of the Table Salad,” is a renowned Polish dish that has earned its name for being a centerpiece at celebrations and festive gatherings. This rich, layered salad is a blend of savory ingredients, each contributing to its vibrant taste and texture. Ingredients:

4 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and diced
3 eggs, hard-boiled and chopped
1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded
1/2 cup peas (frozen or fresh)
1 large carrot, boiled and diced
1 apple, peeled and grated
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley or dill (optional, for garnish)
Directions:

Begin by boiling the potatoes, eggs, and carrot. Once cooked, let them cool completely before peeling and chopping the potatoes and carrot. Peel and chop the eggs as well.
Cook the peas according to package instructions (if using frozen peas, simply thaw them).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the boiled potatoes, eggs, shredded chicken, peas, carrot, and grated apple.
Add finely chopped onion and mix all the ingredients well.
Prepare the dressing by mixing mayonnaise and mustard together. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Gently fold the dressing into the salad mixture, ensuring all the ingredients are well coated.
Arrange the salad in a decorative dish or bowl, layering it neatly.

Serving and Storage Tips:

Serve Sałatka Król Stołu chilled. It’s best to refrigerate the salad for at least one hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Leftover salad can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
